This really is a nice place at a reasonable price in a beautiful area. My wife, 4 year old son and I stayed here for 4 months from May through August in a 35 foot Travel Trailer.
Everybody is very friendly and helpful. I enjoyed my stay there very much.
Bonita Ranch is in a beautiful setting with mountains all around it. They have full hookups as well as bathroom and shower facilities. It is family owned and operated which makes it feel more camper friendly. We stayed in a monthly site (30 amp) and those sites are unusually large for RVs and most even have a little "lawn" and driveway of sorts. The owner (Matt) and his staff are very attentive and see to it that you are comfortable. They even bring mail packages to your door sometimes if they happen to be coming by your site. Not something they are obligated to do but it's an example of the nice touches they have here.
Regarding loud and obnoxious neighbors, my opinion for this is that some of the other campgrounds that are free have been closed down by the forestry service, and since those areas are usually free or on the "honor system", people that normally would frequent them (less courteous) are now coming into Bonita Ranch with the 'I paid my money I can do what I want" attitude. The staff tries to maintain quiet hours and they will ban obnoxious people from the campground but there is only so much they can do since enforcing sometimes means calling law enforcement and in this area, in the evening there isn't much police availability.
Thanks again Matt and staff!!
Is Bonita Ranch still up and running after the recent Blue Cut Fire? Tried calling a few times and the number is diconnected and nothing on their website. Any information would be greatly appreciated!
Crowded, noisy are just a couple of words for this place. Graffiti is all over the trail to the falls. Huge disappointment.
Arrived at this campground on a Saturday after spending the last week camping over Southern California. We immediately felt like cattle shoved into tiny plots of grass with limited resources or space where we were expect to tent camp a foot away from our vehicle without a bit of shade. We were placed in our 6 foot space between two HUGE RV's both containing 6+ people which we could hear their every movement. We then went to the bathroom only to find a line out the door and around the corner due to the fact that all the toilets were damaged/clogged and only one stall was in use. The shower was in the same bathroom which caused a hot steamy smell mixed with the overflowing toilets. We immediately packed up our car and left. Lost $25 but kept our sanity
